MVP Holdings is a privately owned energy logistics company headquartered in Wichita, KS. MVP and its subsidiaries provide gathering, transportation, processing, storage, distribution, marketing and other midstream services to independent oil and natural gas producers, refiners of petroleum and products and other market participants located throughout the United states.
We are currently looking for a Pipeline Technician to join our team in Cunningham, KS. This position will maintain and operate crude oil pipelines, pump stations, Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) measurement, and all the associated equipment such as pumps, motor operated valves, pressure switches, electric motors, transmitters, vibration switches, electronic controls and pressure regulators.
Essential Functions
- Routine maintenance of pumps and electric motors (including bearings and seal replacements, alignments, couplings, pumps, fans, and drain piping modifications) and on other mechanical equipment (including block valves, control valves, air compressors, and valve actuators).
- Preserves facility appearance and safety through performing remedial and preventative maintenance, as well as good housekeeping practices.
- Performs preventative and general maintenance on electronic and mechanical equipment and associated parts.
- Assist with the replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment as needed.
- Maintain and operate custody transfer measurement facilities and perform product quality control tests.
- Participate in and successfully complete company, state, and federal training programs, process safety management reviews, safety meetings, and damage control meetings.
- Satisfy initial and requalifying requirements of companys operator qualification standards.
- Utilize precision tools and testing equipment.
- Respond to operational emergencies in accordance with procedures of company emergency response team.
- Locate pipelines as needed and oversee excavations and line crossings.
- Launch and receive cleaning pigs and assist with launching and cleaning of smart pigs.
- Install pipeline markers and routinely inspect the ROWs.
- Maintain and operate corrosion control equipment.
- Interface professionally and competently with private, public, and government landowners.

Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications for Operator Qualifications, Safety, and any other regulatory requirements.
- Strong commitment to job safety, understanding company policies and company practices, and staying informed and following regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret alignment sheets, schematics, and P&IDs, as well as perform basic mathematical calculations (additions, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals).
- Proficient in written and verbal English communication.
- Exhibit ability and desire to work independently and as part of a team as required.
- Utilize basic computer skills, including spreadsheet and word processing applications, and possess the technical capacity to learn other software programs as needed.
- Internally motivated to start tasks and projects and committed to follow them until completion.
- Organized; able to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
- Attention to detail and ability to catch errors and inconsistencies in own work.
- Ability to critically evaluate complex situations and make decisions.
Education, Certifications, License
- Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Requires a valid Drivers License.
Work Experience
- 1+ year(s) of direct oil field experience is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
- Ability to enunciate clearly and project voice to communicate around noise.
- Operate motor vehicles and drive, on company business, to various worksites and locations.
- Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, or similar structures.

- Operate in an indoor/outdoor industrial field environment and is often subject to extreme temperatures due to the weather and the equipment involved.

- Ability to periodically travel for extended periods of time.
- Ability to be available for responding to emergency situations after work hours, nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.
