Location: Bethalto, IL

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of a community banking Accounting Department and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and recordkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting operations, including ACH, accounts payable, check processing, wires, collections, escheatment, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and oversee financial, statistical, and accounting reports and records.
• Manage, train, schedule, and evaluate accounting staff.
• Ensure compliance with applicable credit union regulations and sound accounting practices.
• Partner with auditors and examiners during annual and comprehensive audits.
• Support management in developing and implementing financial policies and operational objectives.
• Monitor department performance, resolve issues, and keep management informed of key financial and operational matters.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field ideal
• 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a financial institution .
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and word-processing software.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
